Support Brightmusic:

Your investment in our music pays off in ways you never imagined.

Brightmusic is composed of highly-skilled, professional musicians. We are Oklahoma City’s resident chamber music ensemble – one of the few.

However, it may surprise you to learn that our long-term goals go far beyond presenting five concerts a year. That is why we are asking for your support beyond what you may contribute at each concert.

Here are some of our future goals:

  • More than anything else, our goal is to add dimension and richness to living in Oklahoma City and Central Oklahoma.  By being another “quality of life” asset to the community, living and working here is not only more dynamic to our current Sooners, it is yet another plus why companies and organizations should strongly consider moving here.

  • We must increase the compensation of our musicians to at least minimum union scale if we want to continue to attract and retain the finest players in the area.  Our musicians love playing for you and we think it’s only fair that we reciprocate by increasing our appreciation to them.

  • We want to present larger works to you.  However, this means we need more musicians per concert and right now, the money’s just not there.

  • We want to add two more concerts each season so that we can take our music to schools, libraries, senior living facilities, concerts in the park -- to name just a few of the many possibilities available.

  • Our Artistic Directors are not compensated.  Consider this: they plan each concert, select the music and musicians, arrange for guest artists, schedule rehearsals, coordinate with each musician’s schedule, serve on the Board, etc., etc., all this while pursuing their own teaching, performing, traveling schedules.  Don’t get the wrong idea.  Our current Artistic Directors don’t even expect to be compensated – they’re that fantastic.  But considering all they do, isn’t it fair that we pay them at least something?  Of course it is!

  • Despite our youth, we have already commissioned and presented two original works composed exclusively for us.  At our concert in January 2007, we will present our latest commission in honor of Oklahoma’s Centennial.  We want to continue commissioning new works not only because it encourages composers who are interested in our music, it is unparalleled evidence of our deep commitment to our profession, our audiences, and our community.

Just so you know, almost every dollar you contribute goes toward the music as our overhead is extremely low.  There are no paid staff members so our extraneous expenses mainly consist of venue rental, accounting services, a small advertising effort, and postage for concert mailings.

Your contribution may be tax-deductible.  As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, your contribution may be deductible.  Consult your tax advisor for details.

Here’s how you can help us achieve our goals.

Helping us fulfill our musical mission and commitment to our audiences and our city-on-the-grow, Oklahoma City, is easy.  Just choose a level of sponsorship from one of those listed below:
